FREE 2D CAD · OPTIONAL AI · BETA

A browser alternative for ZWCAD and GstarCAD drawing tasks.

CadFreely offers free manual 2D CAD tools for reviewing, measuring and editing supported DWG and DXF drawings. It can fit a browser or Android workflow alongside desktop CAD. Start with the actual files and outputs your team needs.

Choose the task you want to move

If you receive a floor plan from a colleague, you may only need to inspect layers, measure an opening, revise a line or prepare a PDF review sheet. Those are useful tasks to try in CadFreely. Use coordinates, object snaps, dimensions and the command line to make a precise revision, then save a separate copy.

A workflow built around desktop plug-ins, custom objects or application-specific automation needs a different evaluation. Similar commands and a readable DWG do not establish feature parity.

Coming from ZWCAD?

ZWSOFT describes ZWCAD as a DWG-based CAD product. Check its current edition for the tools your project uses. In CadFreely, try a supported 2D change to a copy, such as moving an opening and updating its dimension. Reopen the saved drawing in the receiving application.

Coming from GstarCAD?

GstarCAD’s official product information describes its desktop CAD and DWG/DXF workflows. Before exchanging a drawing, collect the fonts, images and external references it depends on. Check text placement, blocks and layouts in both applications after saving.

A five-step DWG exchange check

  1. Keep the original and open a project copy. Note any unsupported-object or missing-reference warnings.
  2. Check units and a known dimension. Inspect layers, text, blocks, hatches and referenced files.
  3. Make one typical edit and save a separate DWG or DXF. If export is refused, keep a CadFreely backup and the original; do not treat a partial drawing as a completed exchange.
  4. Reopen the exported copy in the CAD tool your colleague uses. Compare the edited area and several unchanged areas.
  5. Plot a PDF and check paper size, scale, lineweights and font appearance before sending it.

Our DWG editing guide, measurement guide and PDF plotting guide cover these steps in more detail.

Know the limits before switching

CadFreely is in beta. Some custom objects, complex blocks and native 3D data cannot safely be edited or exported. Native modeled solids have separate CadFreely-copy and STEP workflows; they do not establish general DWG solid compatibility. An unsupported export may be refused rather than discard data.

Manual drawing tools are free. Optional AI uses account allowances and paid plans. Internet access is needed to load the app and use online services; CadFreely is not a complete offline desktop replacement. You can share a supported drawing for review without assuming the recipient needs an editable exchange file.

Independent products, practical comparisons

CadFreely is not affiliated with or endorsed by ZWSOFT or Gstarsoft. ZWCAD and GstarCAD names belong to their respective owners. This guide does not claim universal file compatibility or a performance ranking.
